Job summary

The Louis Riel School Division/Le Division Scolair is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport and supervise Division students to and from school or events. This role supports the division's Multi-Year Strategic Plan through daily operations.

Applicants must hold a Class II Driver’s Licence, a School Bus Driver’s Certificate, and a 60‑hour Bus Driver Training; CPR is required, with Respect In School training preferred. Prior experience driving and supervising children is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of Bus Driver Training Program (60 hours) with eight hours in-service annually.
• Class II Driver’s Licence required.
• School Bus Driver’s Certificate required.
• CPR Certificate required.
• Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
• Five years practical driving experience.
• Six to twelve months experience as a probationary Bus Driver.
• Previous experience in supervising children.
• First Aid Certificate is an asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.

JOB SUMMARY

This position requires the incumbent to safely transport and supervise Division students to and from school or other events. This position supports the strategic actions of the Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

• Completion of School Division Bus Driver Training Program (a total of 60 hours). Eight hours in-service each year.
• Class II Driver’s Licence
• School Bus Driver’s Certificate.
• CPR Certificate.
• Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
• Five years practical driving experience.
• Six to twelve months experience as a probationary Bus Driver
• Previous experience in supervising children.
• Ability to work under little supervision and demonstrate good problem-solving skills and judgment.
• First Aid Certificate an asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
• Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
• Review and comply with Divisional policies and guidelines.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Driver’s License, and current Drivers Abstract.
