Job summary

The Louis Riel School Division is seeking casual bus drivers who will safely transport and supervise students to and from school or events in Manitoba. The role includes additional non-driving duties as needed to support the Division’s programs and strategic plan.

Starting as soon as arranged until June 30, 2027, compensation is $31.46 per hour. Applicants must meet extensive education and certification requirements and be able to train where needed to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Bus Driver Training Program (60 hours) or willingness to train.
• Five years practical driving experience.
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence with at least 2 merits.
• Valid Class II Manitoba Driver’s Licence with at least 2 merits or willingness to train.
• Current Manitoba School Bus Driver’s Certificate with Louis Riel endorsement or willingness to train.
• Current CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Epi-pen Administration Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience supervising children.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English and French are assets.

This position requires the incumbent to safely transport and supervise Division students to and from school or other events as well as additional non-driving duties as required. This position supports the strategic actions of the Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

• Completion of Grade 10, or equivalent experience.
• Completion of School Division Bus Driver Training Program (a total of 60 hours) or willingness to train.
• Five years practical driving experience.
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence with at least 2 merits.
• Valid class II Manitoba Driver’s Licence with at least 2 merits or willingness to train.
• Current Manitoba School Bus Driver’s Certificate with Louis Riel School Division endorsement or willingness to train.
• Current CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Epi-pen Administration Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience in supervising children.
• Ability to work under little supervision and demonstrate good problem-solving skills and judgment.
• First Aid Certificate is considered an asset.
• Verbal and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French) is considered an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
