Qualifications

  • 5 years of machining experience, specifically in aerospace, with expertise in CNC lathe operations.

Job description

As a Machinist you will set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components according to defined specifications. Generate and modify CNC programs. Select and setup cutting tools

Develop and machine fixtures for turning operations. Conduct regular machine Preventive Maintenance. Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives. Interpret drawings and GD&T requirements. Perform manual inspections on machined parts. Work with minimum supervision in a high-paced production environment. Adhere to manufacturing fabrication systems and procedures, ensuring safety for self and others.

Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mill-turn machines to produce precision aerospace components. Perform measurements of parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and meet production goals. Troubleshoot machine issues to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime. Mentor and train lower-level machinists, sharing your knowledge and skills to enhance team productivity. Uphold safety protocols and quality standards, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a General Machinist ticket/certification or eligibility to obtain it within 1-2 years.
  • 5 years of machining experience, particularly in aerospace, with a strong emphasis on CNC lathe operations, turning processes, and lathe cutting tools.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of a CAM system.
  • Operating 3,4 and 5 axis machines.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and AS9100 requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts.
  • This position may require standing for extended periods.
  • Regular exposure to machinery and tools in a manufacturing environment.
