Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms, Canada's largest poultry processor, is seeking a Machine Operator – Deli to join our on-site team in Brampton. You will operate the designated deli machine safely, monitor for issues, and coordinate maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating machinery in a production or processing setting.
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the designated deli machine safely and efficiently.
  • Monitors equipment for mechanical problems or hazards and arranges maintenance as needed.
  • Collaborates with Department and Maintenance personnel to optimize performance.
  • Prepares and sets up equipment to meet product quality and customer requirements.
  • Maintains a clean, well-organized work area following GMPs.
  • Records relevant data such as weights, temperatures and line speed as required.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Machine Operator – Deli will be responsible for operating the designated machine in a safe and proper manner, monitoring for mechanical problems or hazards, and conducting or arranging for maintenance as required.

Shift: 8:00am start ( Flexibility is required, this is not a remote position, this is a fully on-site role).

What You Will Be Doing
  • Performs assigned tasks in the designated department to ensure that the equipment is maintained and operates at optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment when necessary; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles equipment as needed for processing.
  • Works closely with Department and Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback as to how equipment is performing.
  • Sets up equipment to ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet Company and customer requirements.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition, according to GMPs.
  • Completes department-specific tasks as applicable (e.g. weight checks, smoke concentration, line speed, temperature records, etc.).
What You Will Bring
  • Some experience with machine operation, and/or must possess mechanical aptitude;
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
  • Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) Education and Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
