Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking an Operations Trainer, Plant 6, to monitor staff performance and support training programs on-site. The role reports to the Tray Pack Manager and requires coordinating with Plant Supervisors to drive continuous improvement.

The position emphasizes adherence to regulatory standards, HACCP familiarity, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced meat/poultry facility with evening shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the meat/poultry industry.
  • Knowledge of CFIA, GMP, HACCP, BRC and food safety standards.
  • OHSA and WHMIS familiarity; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve employee performance through planned observations.
  • Track and review the operations training program daily.
  • Ensure shift objectives are achieved via supervisor directions and ongoing monitoring.
  • Report deviations or safety concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
  • Follow all policies, processes, SOPs and instructions for consistency.

Reporting to the Tray Pack Manager, the Operations Trainer, Plant 6 will be responsible for working closely with the Plant Supervisor(s) with respect to monitoring Operations staff performance, supporting the department in employee training and performance improvement.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm ( This job is fully on-site, not a remote position and will require some flexibility of time)

What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for monitoring and improving the performance of each employee (performs planned job observations). Aids in establishing goals and objectives for this area and escalates any performance issues to the Supervisor.
  • Tracks, reports, and reviews the Operations training program daily to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensures all department shift objectives are achieved through the effective coordination and implementation of the Plant Supervisors’ directions, and ongoing monitoring of the departmental workforce.
  • Reports any found deviations or safety concerns to the Plant Supervisor and helps initiate preventative/corrective action when and where required.
  • Policies, Processes & Procedures a. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
What you will bring:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the meat/poultry industry with excellent knowledge of assigned area tasks and processes.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • General computer skills (MS Office). Education and Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be trained under HACCP, responsible knowledge of area CPs.
