Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms in Brampton, ON is seeking a Machine Operator (Eviscerating) for the 1st shift. You will operate and maintain evisceration equipment, ensure product quality, and follow CFIA/HACCP plans to meet safety and production standards.

Qualifications

  • Machine operating experience or mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of CFIA/HACCP/BRC food safety standards.
  • Working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment; dismantles, cleans and reassembles as needed.
  • Collaborates with Department and Maintenance Supervisor to feedback on equipment performance.
  • Sets up equipment to meet product and customer requirements.
  • Works with CFIA on HACCP plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Collects materials and ensures accountability per P&P program.
  • Maintains clean, orderly work area per GMPs and records monitoring tasks.

Salary Range: $20.55 To $26.00 Hourly

Reporting to the Evisceration Manager, the Machine Operator (Eviscerating)will beresponsible forperforming assigned tasks in the designated department to ensure that the equipment is maintained and operates at optimal performance.

This is to fill an existing position in the company.

Location: 8301 Winston Churchill Blvd, Brampton, ON L6Y 0A2

Shift: Friday & Monday from 3:00am – 1:00pm and Saturday & Sunday from 6:0!am – 4:00pm.

What you will be doing:
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment when necessary; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles equipment as needed for processing.
  • Works closely with Department and Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback as to how equipment is performing.
  • Sets up equipment to ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet Company and customer requirements.
  • Work with CIFA on HACCP Plan. Identify any deficiencies on the line and work with CFIA to correct.
  • Collect all material and ensure that everything is accounted for as per P&P program (e.g. scissors and knives).
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition, according to GMPs.
  • Accurately record the relevant monitoring tasks in the department records.

b. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

What you will bring:
  • Machine operating experience, and/or must possess mechanical aptitude;
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
  • Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Well organized team player with good interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.;
  • General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office)
  • High School Diploma required.
