Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms in Brampton is looking for a Machine Operator – Deli to operate the designated equipment safely and efficiently on-site. You will monitor for equipment issues, perform basic maintenance, and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP and CFIA standards.

Qualifications

• Some experience with machine operation or mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with CFIA, GMP, HACCP, BRC and food safety standards.
• Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS and other workplace health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate designated machinery and maintain equipment for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment; dismantle, clean, and reassemble as needed.
• Coordinate with Department and Maintenance Supervisors on equipment performance feedback.
• Set up equipment to meet company and customer requirements for all products.
• Maintain clean work area and comply with GMPs.
• Complete department tasks such as weight checks, temperature records, line speed.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Machine Operator – Deli will be responsible for responsible for operating the designated machine in a safe and proper manner, monitoring for mechanical problems or hazards, and conducting or arranging for maintenance as required.

Shift: 8:00am start (Flexibility is required, this is not a remote position, this is a fully on-site role)

What you will be doing:

• Performs assigned tasks in the designated department to ensure that the equipment is maintained and operates at optimal performance.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment when necessary; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles equipment as needed for processing.
• Works closely with Department and Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback as to how equipment is performing.
• Sets up equipment to ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet Company and customer requirements.
• Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition, according to GMPs.
• Completes department-specific tasks as applicable (e.g. weight checks, smoke concentration, line speed, temperature records, etc.)

What you will bring:

• Some experience with machine operation, and/or must possess mechanical aptitude;
• Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
• Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
• Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
• General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) Education and Certification Requirements
• High School Diploma required.
