Job summary

Maple Lodge Farms, Canada’s largest poultry processor, is seeking a Machine Operator (Eviscerating) in Brampton, ON. Reporting to the Evisceration Manager, you will ensure equipment operates at peak performance and meets quality standards.

This full-time role includes a shift schedule (Fri & Mon 3:00am–1:00pm; Sat & Sun 6:00am–4:00pm) with benefits, pension, weekly pay, onsite cafeteria, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Machine operating experience or mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of CFIA, GMP, HACCP, and BRC food-safety standards.
• Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS workplace regulations.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and multitask.
• Analytical mindset with problem-identification and problem-solving skills.
• Well-organized team player with good communication and motivation.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• High School Diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles as needed.
• Collaborates with Department and Maintenance Supervisor; provides equipment performance feedback.
• Sets up equipment to ensure department products meet company and customer requirements.
• Works with CFIA on HACCP; identifies deficiencies and coordinates corrections.
• Collects materials and ensures everything is accounted for per P&P (e.g. scissors, knives).
• Maintains clean and orderly equipment/work area following GMPs.
• Records monitoring tasks in department logs.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.
• Follows departmental SOPs and instructions for controlled work.

Reporting to the Evisceration Manager, the Machine Operator (Eviscerating) will be responsible for performing assigned tasks in the designated department to ensure that the equipment is maintained and operates at optimal performance.

This is to fill an existing position in the company.

Location: 8301 Winston Churchill Blvd, Brampton, ON L6Y 0A2

Shift: Friday & Monday from 3:00am – 1:00pm and Saturday & Sunday from 6:00am – 4:00pm.

What You Will Be Doing

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment when necessary; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles equipment as needed for processing.
• Works closely with Department and Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback as to how equipment is performing.
• Sets up equipment to ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet Company and customer requirements.
• Work with CIFA on HACCP Plan. Identify any deficiencies on the line and work with CFIA to correct.
• Collect all material and ensure that everything is accounted for as per P&P program (e.g. scissors and knives).
• Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition, according to GMPs.
• Accurately record the relevant monitoring tasks in the department records.

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

What You Will Bring

• Machine operating experience, and/or must possess mechanical aptitude;
• Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
• Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
• Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
• Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
• Well organized team player with good interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.;
• General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office)
• High School Diploma required.
