Job summary

Holt Renfrew in Toronto is seeking an Associate Buyer to drive timely sourcing of premium products and to collaborate with planning, marketing, and stores to meet sales and margin goals.

The role requires 2 years of associate buying/planning experience in luxury retail, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to manage open-to-buy and vendor relationships to optimize assortments and profitability.

Qualifications

• 2 years proven associate buying &/or planning experience, preferably in luxury retail.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to discuss portfolio performance in reviews.
• Ability to articulate and evaluate merchandise assortment.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial plans in partnership with Buyer and planner.
• Achieve planned sales and margin goals and drive merchandising.
• Prepare and present monthly forecast recaps and post-market buy recaps.
• Plan and align the buy strategy to optimize local store needs and demands.
• Source reliable vendors and negotiate best terms.
• Evaluate vendors and suggest more effective business practices.
• Attend market to select collections and negotiate bids within budgets.
• Ensure timely delivery of merchandise and manage open-to-buy with planning.
