Job summary

Hancon Mining Division Inc. in Timmins, Ontario is seeking a full-time Drill Operator to work underground with pneumatic and top-hammer longhole drills in hard rock environments.

You will follow approved layouts, perform set-ups, and ensure safe, efficient drilling operations. The position requires 2+ years of longhole drilling experience and Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of pneumatic and/or top-hammer longhole drilling experience.
• Demonstrated underground hard-rock mining experience.
• Ability to interpret drill layouts and underground production instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate pneumatic and/or top-hammer production longhole drills.
• Drill production holes according to approved layouts, specifications and direction.
• Complete drill setup, alignment and relocation between work areas.
• Perform drilling in various orientations and ground conditions.
• Complete pre-operational inspections and identify equipment deficiencies.
• Monitor drilling performance, hole condition and equipment operation.
• Assist with routine maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting as required.
• Maintain accurate drilling and production records.
• Work effectively with supervisors, engineering, survey, blasting and maintenance personnel.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow all applicable health, safety and operating procedures.

This position will join our team working in Timmins, Ontario on a full-time basis. The schedule will primarily depend on employee location and travel requirements.

This position offers a salary range of $55.00 - $80.00 perhour.

Preferred Experience

• Experiencewith production longhole drilling and associated drilling practices
• Abilityto interpret drill layouts and underground production instructions
• Strongunderstanding of safe drill operation and underground workplace hazards
• Abilityto work in a physically demanding environment
• Validdriver’s license
• Eligibleto work in Canada
