Job summary

Lake Shore Gold is seeking a Long Hole Loader for the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. This full-time role requires relocation to the Timmins area and involves 10-hour shifts on a rotating 5-5-4 schedule, days and nights.

You will read blast layouts, handle explosives, and assist with cable bolts and initiation systems while upholding safety and housekeeping standards. Candidates with blasting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in blasting operations and reading blast layouts.
• Must maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Eligible to work in Canada and relocate to Timmins area.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blast layouts and use bulk and packaged explosives.
• Clean holes and prepare for blasts; lay out detonators and boosters.
• Stemming of holes; install and grout cable bolts; ensure proper blast columns.
• Coordinate with initiation systems (Nonel and electronic).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.

About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire Long Hole Loaders to join our Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is 5-5-4, 10 hour shifts rotating days and nights each week .

In this position, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blast layouts and using bulk and packaged explosives. Duties will include, but are not limited to, cleaning holes and preparing for blasts; laying out detonators and boosters; stemming of holes; installation and grouting of cable bolts, ensuring proper columns on holes and tying in blasts using Nonel and Electronic Initiation systems and any other duties as assigned.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of $32.95 - $43.50/hr based on qualifications and experience.

Vacancy Status

This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
