Job summary

Lake Shore Gold in Timmins, Ontario, is hiring Long Hole Drillers for the Timmins West Mine and Bell Creek Mine on a full-time basis. The role features a 5-5-4 schedule with 11-hour shifts, requiring relocation to the Timmins area. You will inspect, drill, and maintain holes and services per engineering prints and procedures.

Ideal candidates have long hole drilling experience, a commitment to safety, and eligibility to work in Canada. A competitive hourly salary plus robust benefits is offered.

About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine‑Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine‑Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty‑eight hundred tonnes per day.

About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire Long Hole Drillers to join our team at the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON. and Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. on a full-time basis. The schedule is 5-5-4, 11 hour shifts rotating days and nights each week.

In this position, you will be responsible for receiving the daily crew line up, completing pre‑op checks and check sheets as required; inspecting the work place and eliminating and correcting any hazards by following all prints and drilling instructions provided by the Engineering Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to, prepping the work place, clean and ream holes, drill production holes for long hole stopes, drill service holes as requested, install or take down services and vent and operate equipment as required.

Compensation:

This position offers a salary range of $32.95-$43.50/hr, based on qualifications and experience.

Vacancy Status:

This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.
