Job summary

Lake Shore Gold, based in Timmins, Ontario, is hiring a Surface Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the Bell Creek Mine team in Porcupine, ON. This full-time role requires relocation to the Timmins area and features a 5-5-4 schedule with 10-hour shifts, dayshift only.

The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, fabrication and electrical repairs on the mine's heavy equipment fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related mining experience in a hard-rock underground environment or industry-related experience.
• Practice good housekeeping and a strong commitment to safety.
• Experience in a mining environment and welding certification are assets.
• Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently maintain the mobile heavy equipment fleet.
• Troubleshoot, clean, lubricate, adjust, inspect and repair equipment.
• Component replacement and rebuild, welding and fabrication duties.
• Perform low voltage electrical repairs on heavy equipment.

About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.

The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world's most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire a Surface Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON, on a full-time basis. The schedule is 5-5-4, 10 hr shifts, dayshift only.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

In this position, you will safely and efficiently perform maintenance activities to preserve the condition of the mobile heavy equipment fleet: troubleshooting, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, inspecting, repairing, component replacement & rebuild, welding, fabrication and low voltage electrical repairs of heavy equipment.

More About You

To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of related mining experience in a hard-rock underground environment or industry-related experience.

• Five (5) years' experience in an industrial setting
• Experience in a mining environment and welding certification are considered assets
• Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core
