Job summary

Lake Shore Gold, a Pan American Silver subsidiary, seeks an Underground Supervisor for the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON. This full-time role follows a 5-5-4 rotation with 12-hour shifts and requires relocation to the Timmins area.

You will report to the Mine General Foreman and lead daily operations. Responsibilities include deploying materials, ensuring safety and production targets, training staff, and upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of related mining experience.
• Supervisory Common Core is required.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Strong computer skills and problem-solving abilities
• Strong commitment to safety

Responsibilities

• Ensures operations comply with legislative, company, and site regulations.
• Ensures compliance with H&S and Environmental requirements.
• Ensures employees are trained before performing the work.
• Assign employees specific work assignments each shift to meet production targets daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensures workers are monitored during the shift and coaching and training as required.
• Deploys materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in area of responsibility.
• Inspects all work and requests corrective actions.
• Manages employee performance and adherence to company policies on-site.
• Maintains positive employee attitude and participation.
• Handles occupational health and safety and environmental matters within control.

About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire Underground Supervisors to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON. on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hr shifts.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of $115,000-130,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Vacancy Status

This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations and direct supervision of your crew. You will also be responsible for the deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your area of responsibility.

Reporting to the Mine General Foreman, the Underground Supervisor will have the following responsibilities

• Ensures operations comply with legislative, company, and site regulations.
• Ensures compliance with H&S and Environmental
• Ensures employees are trained before performing the work.
• Assign employees specific work assignments each shift to meet production targets daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensures workers are monitored during the shift and coaching and training as required.
• Responsible for the deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your own area of responsibility.
• Inspects all work and request corrective actions.
• Manages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures on-site including quality of work, discipline, absences, and vacation scheduling.
• Keeps a pulse of the workforce to maintain positive employee attitude and participation.
• Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to Lake Shore Gold Corporation
• Special projects may be assigned from time to time.
