Group Summary

Job Responsibilities

1. Coordinate all inbound Dortec truck traffic.
2. Liaise with all departments at Dortec for incoming shipments, tracking materials, and ensuring timely delivery.
3. Authorize premium freight/expedite with the department head.
4. Track all premium and regular freight costs.
5. Identify improvements and cost savings for transportation within North America and overseas, ensuring measurable outcomes.
6. Coordinate with carriers to define routings and transportation schedules.
7. Determine the most efficient equipment for specific routings.
8. Collaborate with departments regarding shipments and receipts for outside processing.
9. Design, develop, and implement logistics procedures, policies, and forms.
10. Verify and assist with shipping and customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
11. Track all inbound and outbound trucking activities.
12. Address service and operational problems, advising supervisors for corrective actions.
13. Ensure efficient transportation and identify cost-saving opportunities.
14. Provide daily information, identify trouble areas, and implement procedures to reduce confusion.
15. Maintain relations with plants and carriers, ensuring service levels meet expectations.
16. Recognize problem areas during loading/unloading at supplier locations or plants.
17. Oversee proper documentation for all shipments.
18. Arrange movement of defective materials to suppliers.
19. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 3 to less than 5 years of relevant work experience.
3. Post-secondary education in logistics or equivalent experience.
4. CITT certification is an asset.
5. Knowledge of TMS (Transport Management System) is an asset.
6. Proficiency in computer software such as MRP, Drive, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
