Role Description

We are expanding and looking for a talented and driven Logistics Specialist & Assistant to join us this summer through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. This is a full-time on-site Logistics Specialist role located in Mississauga, ON at Gizmo Machine Tools Inc. In this position, you will support both operational and marketing functions. You will play a key role in managing freight and shipping logistics, invoicing, customer communication, and digital marketing initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain broad business experience in logistics, B2B communication, and digital marketing in a fast-paced environment. This is an 8 week contract as per CSJ.

Responsibilities

Logistics & Operations

• Coordinate shipping and freight logistics with transport companies
• Handle shipping quotes, tracking, and follow-ups
• Generate and manage invoices and shipping documents
• Respond to customer and supplier emails
• Organize and update shipment records
• Follow up on sales leads via email or phone
• Help maintain CRM and communication tracking

Marketing & Web Support

• Assist in updating and maintaining the company website (WordPress or similar)
• Contribute to digital marketing efforts: email campaigns, social media posts, and content creation
• Support paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads and others if applicable)
• Assist with marketing analytics and reporting

Qualifications and Requirements

**Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

**Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

**Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada

• Previous experience in logistics or relevant field is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing, etc. is preferred.
• Experience with logistics, shipping, or administrative support is a strong asset
• Digital marketing experience (social media, Google Ads, or SEO)
• Google Ads Certification is a huge bonus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with invoicing platforms and basic accounting is a plus
• Comfortable with using tools like Excel, WordPress, Google Suite, etc.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
