Job summary

DP World Fraser Surrey is seeking an operations-focused professional to monitor performance, track KPIs, and assist in budgeting for container yard operations in the Greater Vancouver area. The role emphasizes strong organization, English communication, and collaboration with a diverse labour workforce.

Candidates should have a degree in business or logistics, familiarity with MS Office, and experience with Canadian industries.

Qualifications

• Degree in business, logistics or similar preferred.
• Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• MS Office proficiency and ability to learn new systems.
• Effective communication at all levels.
• Ability to exercise judgment within company policies.
• Motivation and the capability of working on own your initiative while contributing to the team.
• Fluent in English.
• Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track performance to budgeted goals and/or targets established for the department.
• Provide KPI results to management on a daily basis.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for container yard by providing productivity targets, associated manning requirements and improvements.
• Initiate discussions with employees who are in breach of company policies and communicate breaches of policy to the Superintendent on duty for resolution.
• Identify and resolve any customer issues that are related to the specific operations.
• Promote positive relationships with our labour workforce, by meeting with them on a daily basis.
• This position may require shift work which is subject to change with notice based on business needs.
