Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet operations.
• Experience within construction, aggregates, building materials, or related industry is highly preferred.
• DZ or AZ driver's license is considered a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario transportation and workplace safety regulations (CVOR, OHSA, WSIB).
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple jobs, transportation requirements, drivers, and independent haulers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate material deliveries to multiple job sites.
• Direct logistics activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to end users.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of materials in transit and on site.
• Coordinate and manage transportation vendors, brokers, and independent haulers.
• Negotiate vendor agreements and monitor transportation partner performance.
• Track shipments and deliveries, resolve issues, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Develop logistics plans and contingency strategies based on site conditions and project phases.
• Work with Operations to coordinate material handling, storage, loading, unloading, and distribution.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed at job sites.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain monthly logistics and operational reports.
• Monitor budgets, transportation costs, and operational targets.

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations. This position will play a key role in ensuring materials and personnel are delivered to job sites efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable provincial regulations and company standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transportation and logistics operations, with exposure to the construction, aggregates, dispatch, or building materials industry. This role requires a hands‑on leader who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, coordinating drivers and independent haulers, and working in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate material deliveries to multiple job sites.
• Direct logistics activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to end users.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of materials in transit and on site.
• Coordinate and manage transportation vendors, brokers, and independent haulers.

• Work closely with Operations to coordinate material handling, storage, loading, unloading, and distribution.
• Ensure appropriate safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed at job sites.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, internal reporting, and operational records.
• Prepare and maintain monthly logistics and operational reports.
• Monitor annual budgets, transportation costs, and operational targets.
• Identify staffing requirements and support the development of job descriptions for logistics positions.
• Partner with HR on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and retraining initiatives.
• Ensure all logistics employees receive appropriate training related to safety, operational procedures, competency requirements, and company policies.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for logistics-related incidents and accidents and ensure timely reporting.
• Ensure safety reports, inspections, and motor vehicle tickets are properly processed and documented.
• Oversee preventative maintenance activities, including pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Customer Service, Operations, and other departments to improve logistics coordination and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• College or university education preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet operations.
• Experience within the construction, aggregates, building materials, or related industry is highly preferred.
• Experience with aggregate dispatch and material delivery operations is considered a strong asset.
• Certification or education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or Construction Management is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario transportation and workplace safety regulations, including CVOR, OHSA, and WSIB requirements.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple jobs, transportation requirements, drivers, and independent haulers simultaneously.
• Experience with construction scheduling software and/or ERP systems is an asset.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong conflict‑resolution and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• DZ or AZ driver's license is considered a strong asset.

Working Conditions

• Primarily based at the company's head office in Concord, Ontario, with travel to various job sites as required.
• Occasional outdoor site visits and off‑hours or weekend coordination may be required.
• Must be comfortable working in an operational environment and following all applicable site PPE and safety requirements.
• Must be able to lift and move materials as required, in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Saturdays may occasionally be required: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Additional hours may be required based on urgent operational matters, meetings, special functions, or business needs.
• The successful candidate must be available to support company operations as required.
