Job Description

The Logistics Manager oversees all logistics and supply chain activities for the construction project. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and managing the movement of materials, equipment, and resources to ensure efficiency, safety, and organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and support the logistics team, including Storage, Equipment, Security, Site Facilities, Electricity, Lighting, and the Bull Crew.
  2. Develop and implement logistics plans covering site setup, material delivery, and waste management.
  3. Plan routes for internal and external logistics, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
  4. Optimize resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
  5. Ensure logistics operations comply with safety standards and protocols.
  6. Manage budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  7. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement and tracking of materials and services.
  8. Resolve logistics issues promptly during the project.
  9. Prepare reports on logistics activities, progress, budgets, and risks.
  10. Implement process improvements for efficiency.
  11. Lead and develop the logistics team, fostering growth and learning.
Required Skills and Competencies
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  2. At least 10 years of experience as a Logistics Manager or similar in large, complex projects.
  3. Ability to manage multiple locations and adapt to changing priorities.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Strong knowledge of logistics, resource management, and supply chain principles.
  6. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  8. Commitment to safety and quality, with attention to detail.
  9. Experience managing multiple crews in fast-paced environments.
Work Conditions
  1. Valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s license.
  2. Ability to work in various weather and environmental conditions.
  3. Extended hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
