*Job Summary*The position will oversee the efficient running of the shipping department and warehouse. Responsible for coordinating employees, and the inventory in/out of the warehouse. Tasks will include, but not be limited to, the supervision of employees, general administration, scheduling of carriers, shunts and freight, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining health & safety. Maintain inventory accuracy and communicate daily with Customer Service, the Plant Managers and Scheduler. Supervise, direct, train and oversee the work of employees in shipping while promoting teamwork, quality and continuous improvement.Location: Barrie, ON and Orillia, ON*Responsibilities** Manage the daily operations of the shipping department including 3 locations in Orillia and our primary warehouse location in Barrie.* Ensure good workplace organization and well-defined warehouse mapping is in place to reduce waste and improve customer shipment accurateness.* Manage, train and ensure appropriate coverage in the shipping department.* Coordinate and maintain the transfer and input of information into inventory system and maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and participate in monthly full-inventory counts.* Process all administrative tasks including completion of way bills, invoicing, filing etc.* Complete customs documents and ensure cross-border tariff and duty compliances.* Ensure all paperwork, quotes and way bills are processed within a reasonable timeframe.* Schedule all shipments via carriers, shunts, freight transfers etc.* Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and manage expenses.* Ensure that the appropriate method of delivery is used for shipments for example appropriately sized containers.* Negotiate for services and preferential rates. Negotiate freight agreements and oversee ongoing improvements to freight management, including cost efficiencies.* Coordinate with the Scheduler and Plant Manager on a daily basis to ensure our inventory is correct.* Communicate with the shunt truck drivers to ensure deliveries are on time and accurate.* Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.* Work with Customer Service to maintain a high level of service to our customers.* Create and maintain spreadsheets as requested.* Ensure and enforce all staff work in a safe and healthy manner and adhere to the OHSA and Polyethics policies and procedures.* Actively participate in Managers? meetings and provide regular reporting as required by the business.* Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the warehouse and logistics teams.* Lead the training, assessment and licensing renewals for all forklift drivers in the warehouses.* Adherence to all Health & Safety, Fire Emergency, and Polyethics Policies and Procedures.* Assist in a monthly inventory verification count.* Other responsibilities as assigned.*Experience** Proven experience in logistics management or a related field is required.* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.* Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.* Post secondary education and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience required.* Previous forklift license and experience required.* Preferred knowledge of manufacturing or production processes and procedures.* Well organized, with a good attention to detail and accuracy and sound communication skills.*As part of our hiring process, we ask that all interested applicants complete a 2-question survey:*Please select "Polyethics Talent Network" prior to completing the survey.https://surveys.cultureindex.com/s/rrxkEc2dE0/104592Join our team as a Logistics Manager where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our supply chain efficiency while leading a dedicated team towards achieving operational
