Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking Expo staff to support the seamless flow of orders from the kitchen to the guests, delivering accurate, timely service.

You will assist in final preparation, stock service areas, operate POS, and transfer critical information between team members, while upholding health and safety standards.

Flexible evenings/weekends/holidays; Pro Serve certificate preferred, training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Interest in hospitality; entry-level experience not mandatory.
• Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain.
• Excellent communication skills in person.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient flow of orders from kitchen to guests.
• Assist in final preparation of dishes.
• Deliver orders to maintain fast service.
• Transfer essential information between kitchen and wait staff (e.g., customer requests).
• Ensure compliance with Compass Quality Assurance, AGLC regulations and Health & Safety protocols.
• Strong organization skills; work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Assist staff to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
• Operate POS systems and report malfunctions.
• Tidy up tables, counters, and other service areas.
• Restock service areas with straws, napkins, condiments.
• Prepare juices and cocktail garnishes.
• Adhere to uniform standards and SOPs.

The Expo staff supports communication between the kitchen and service staff to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and delivered promptly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen and bar to the guests.
• Assisting in the final preparation of dishes.
• Deliver orders to maintain fast service.
• Transfer essential information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g., when a customer has a particular request)
• Ensure strict compliance with Compass Quality Assurance, AGLC regulations and Health & Safety protocols.
• Strong organization skills with ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Assist staff to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
• Operate all departments POS systems and report malfunctions.
• Tidy up tables, counters, and other service areas.
• Restock the service areas with straws, coasters, napkins, and condiments.
• Prepare juices and cocktail garnishes.
• Assists service staff as needed.
• Display the ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks.
• Adhere to uniform standards and job specific standard operation procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Interest in the hospitality industry; previous entry-level experience in a bar or restaurant is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.
