Job summary

Estevan Area Literacy Group in Estevan, SK, is seeking a Literacy Coordinator to initiate and facilitate literacy programs for early childhood, family, and workplace groups. You will support ESL learners and help develop community partnerships, while contributing to grant writing and program coordination.

The role may require some evening and weekend hours; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are needed to reach partner sites. A competitive wage and benefits package are offered.

The Estevan Area Literacy Group started in 2007 . The EALG promotes literacy in Estevan area through free programming.

A Literacy Coordinator is required to:

• Initiate and facilitate literacy programs to specific groups in the community including early childhood, family, and workplace.
• Provide literacy support to English as a Second Language (ESL) Learners.
• Write grant proposals..
• Do basic bookkeeping.

Qualifications:

• relevant educational and/or employment background in literacy, education, early childhood services, administration, bookkeeping, or other related field
