Southeast Regional Library is seeking a Community Engagement Liaison for the Estevan Public Library Branch. This role focuses on developing and evaluating services, programs, and partnerships that benefit the local community and align with the library's strategic goals.

The position requires coordinating outreach initiatives, advocating for community-based programs, and engaging diverse community experts. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in humanities, social sciences, library studies or community development, or equivalent experience coordinating and administering programs and community outreach initiatives.
  • Experience with community engagement and partnership development an asset.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the library's community presence.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate innovative services, programs and partnerships.
  • Advocate for programs and outreach services within the library and the community.
  • Engage community experts, instructors and mentors for services and programs.
  • Assist in delivering library services, reference services, and circulation support.

Reporting to the Branch supervisor, this position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the library's community presence. This is an opportunity to work at the Estevan Public Library Branch developing, implementing and evaluating innovative services, programs, community partnerships and volunteer initiatives that are relevant and valuable to the community and advance the library's strategic plan and organizational goals. They advocate for programs and outreach services within the library and the community to enhance patron quality of life. They engage community experts, instructors, and mentors for services and programs in order to meet needs and interests. The Community Engagement Liaison has exemplary working knowledge of current technologies. They demonstrate skills in communicating and presenting information, writing, and listening. They demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exercise initiative and sound judgement. They assist with initiatives that uphold the library's commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. This position also assists in the delivery of public library services from a city public library branch by providing reference services, operate the circulation desk and support overall library services.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in humanities, social sciences, library studies or community development, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience coordinating and administering programs and community outreach initiatives; previous library experience is an asset; experience with community engagement and partnership development an asset. Availability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.
