Job summary

Southeast College in Assiniboia, SK, is seeking a Casual EAL Instructor to deliver ESL instruction aligned with approved curriculum and adult learning principles. You will develop outlines, objectives and materials, assess progress, provide feedback, and collaborate with staff and partners.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with TESL accreditation or equivalent, plus at least 1 year of experience with adult literacy or EAL programs, CLB/PBLA knowledge, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with TESL accreditation or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with adult literacy or EAL.
• Knowledge of CLB levels and PBLA; Avenue LMS training.
• Proficiency in English; ability to facilitate groups with diverse backgrounds.

We are looking to fill the Casual EAL Instructor position in Assiniboia.

The EAL instructor will

• Deliver ESL instruction aligned with approved curriculum and adult learning principles
• Develop program outlines, learning objectives, and instructional materials
• Assess, monitor, and document student progress, attendance, and achievement
• Provide ongoing feedback, academic support, and referrals as needed
• Maintain an inclusive and effective virtual learning environment
• Support employability-focused learning activities
• Collaborate with College staff and community partners
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation accurately and on time

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and TESL Saskatchewan Accreditation, or completion of TESL Canada Professional Certificate Standard One or Completion of TESL 21, 31, 33, 42 or equivalent.
• A minimum of one year experience working with adult literacy or EAL programming.
• Knowledge and experience with CLB levels and PBLA, including Avenue LMS training
• English as a first language or demonstrated high-level proficiency in English
• Ability to facilitate groups with differing opinions, experience, and backgrounds
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
