Job summary

Kicking Horse Café in Invermere, BC is seeking a Line Cook - On-Call to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You’ll prep ingredients, cook high-quality meals, and help keep the kitchen running smoothly behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone who loves great coffee, fresh food, and teamwork.

Shifts vary 4–8 hours with early starts (as early as 7am). You’ll be our first call for last-minute coverage, bringing energy and pride to every plate.

Qualifications

• A genuine love of food.
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar culinary environment.
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of food safety practices.
• Commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
• The ability to follow recipes and deliver consistent results.
• Pride in creating great food and presenting it well.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Food Safe Level 1 or 2, or willingness to obtain it.
• Culinary or hospitality education is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, high-quality food our guests love.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and food-safe.
• Stay on top of prep and flag inventory needs early.
• Follow recipes and plating standards with consistency.
• Use prep lists and procedures to keep quality high.
