Job summary

Gon Sushi in Chilliwack, BC is hiring a full-time cook to plan menus, prepare meals, and supervise kitchen staff. You will requisition supplies, manage inventory, and ensure cleanliness and food safety in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Ideal candidates have 7 months to under 1 year of experience, with a high school diploma and the ability to work 30-40 hours per week. Compensation is hourly and negotiated.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant cooking preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Willingness to train staff in preparation and handling of food.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
• Clean kitchen and work areas.
• Handle gratuities.
