We are looking for reliable and experienced Line Cookto join our team at Chateau Nova Kingsway. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals and individual dishes while maintaining food quality, safety and presentation standards. This role requires someone who can stay organized, work efficiently and contribute positively to the kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare ingredients and complete food preparation for daily service.
• Ensure food is prepared to the correct quality, portion and presentation standards.
• Monitor food temperatures, storage and handling practices to maintain food safety standards.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment as required.
• Assist with monitoring food supplies and identifying items that need to be ordered.
• Set up and maintain assigned workstations for service.
• Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Properly store food and ingredients and assist in minimizing food waste.
• Work closely with other kitchen employees to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
• Assist with training and providing direction to kitchen helpers when required.
• Follow hotel policies, food safety standards and workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a cooking apprenticeship, college or other recognized cooking or food safety program, or equivalent commercial cooking experience will be an asset.
• Previous experience working as a cook or line cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion standards and food preparation procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
