Alexander Place is a fully accredited long term care home in Waterdown, Ontario and serves 128 residents. It is a growing, predominantly residential community within the city of Hamilton and approximately 60 km west from downtown Toronto. The community is known for its natural beauty, and numerous wetland trails, alongside local amenities like unique shops, diverse restaurants, and community events.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is instrumental in fostering a vibrant and engaging environment for residents to ensure their well-being and satisfaction.
The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of culturally sensitive activities for residents. These activities address spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs. A crucial element of this function is monitoring participation and ensuring residents maintain choice and autonomy in selecting activities.
The Life Enrichment Coordinator collaborates closely with other departments and residents’ families, facilitates resident connection with the wider community, and provides ongoing training to the team. They are also responsible for the capital and operational budgeting processes for the department.
