Job summary

Jarlette Health Services is seeking an Environmental Support Lead to coordinate environmental services and ensure that organizational standards are achieved at our Midland, Ontario location. The role involves supporting the Regional Director of Long-Term Care Operations in policy development and strategic planning.

You will manage day-to-day environmental services, lead a team, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining exceptional resident and staff experiences.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in healthcare or similar setting.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping, laundry and maintenance practices; health and safety regulations knowledge.
  • 5 years maintenance-related work experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate seamless delivery of environmental services and ensure organizational standards are met.
  • Support Regional Director in strategic planning and policy development.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of environmental services; work out of Midland Home Office when not on the road.
  • Interpret and implement applicable laws and regulations; ensure compliance with Health and Safety Act and related regulations.

Environmental Support Lead

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Location: On site at 658 King Street, Midland ON

Under the supervision of the Regional Director of Long-Term Care Operations, the Environmental Support Lead will be responsible for coordinating seamless and efficient delivery of all environmental services and ensuring that standards set by the organization are achieved. They will provide and maintain effective management of the service which will involve ensuring the completion of all day-to-day operations. They will also support the Regional Director of Long-Term Care Operations in the strategic planning and development of policies and procedures. When not on the road this team member will work out of our Home Office which is located in Midland, Ontario.

The following traits and qualifications are required:

  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity which may also include experience and demonstrated leadership in the healthcare field/setting or a relevant field/setting in accordance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, Ontario Regulation ss 246/22 ss. 98(2).
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma is preferred;
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance as applicable; and
  • 5 years of maintenance related work experience preferred.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
  • Able to interpret and implement applicable laws and regulations.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be familiar with cleaning products.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety Act, Fire Protection & Prevention Act, Fixing Long-Term Act and all associated regulations
