Job summary

Cogir Senior Living’s Hollyburn House in the Vancouver area is hiring a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse. You’ll deliver patient-centered nursing care to residents, work within a supportive interprofessional team, and implement care plans with documentation and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• LPNs provide planned, patient-oriented nursing care following provincial standards.
• Part of a multi-disciplinary team building trusted relationships with residents and families.
• Implement and evaluate care plans and update as required.
• Complete and ensure accurate care assessments, care plans and documentation.
• Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.
