The Transit Facilities Maintenance Unit is responsible for the property management functions associated with the maintenance, operation and repair of all transit facilities.
You are responsible for a full range of installation, testing, trouble-shooting, maintenance and preventive maintenance duties, and for repairing a variety of electrical equipment, distribution systems, and electrical fixtures and devices. These include, but are not limited to: distribution and switching systems, motors, HVAC, power storage and conditioning systems, fire, lighting and building management systems used and/or installed in the garage properties and transitway stations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECompletion of Industrial Electrician apprenticeship program of 9000 hours
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment, systems and controls, following acquisition of Journeyperson’s certificate.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES Valid OntarioCertificate of Qualificationas Electrician-Construction and Maintenance 309A or Industrial Electrician 442A Valid Ontario unrestricted Gclass driver’slicence(or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated Must obtain Ontario unrestrictedAZ or DZclass driver’slicence(or provincial equivalent) within the timeframe determined by the employer KNOWLEDGEWHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
