Job description

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Electrode Equipment Electrician to join our team. This person will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of equipment in our Electrode department.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in facility systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and execute all PdM and PM tasks.
  • Identify and procure necessary parts and materials for repairs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Support new equipment installations, commissioning checks, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and create incident reports.
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow work procedures and comply with safety standards.
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed electrician.
  • Electrical skilled trades certification (309A).
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work plant shutdowns, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical system construction, maintenance, and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Self-motivated with sound decision-making and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.

Other Requirements:

  • Proven safety record working with energized equipment.
  • Substantial maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Equipment integration, setup, troubleshooting, and commissioning experience.
  • Familiarity with communication and computer networking systems.
