Job summary

Vic West Dentistry in Victoria, BC is seeking a Part-time Dental Assistant for weekdays only. The wage ranges from $31 to $36 per hour and depends on skills and location.

You will assist dentists, prepare rooms, take X-rays, sterilize instruments, and support patient education and scheduling. The ideal candidate is registered/certified with the provincial body, has prior dental assisting experience preferred, and is legally authorized to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Must be registered and/or certified as a Dental Assistant with the provincial regulatory body.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments and support patient comfort.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control per IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide oral hygiene education.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and basic administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships with professional conduct.

Salary:

About You:

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
