Job summary

Ottawa West Dental in west Ottawa is seeking a Dental Assistant to join a patient‑focused team with over 40 years in the community. We deliver comprehensive services including preventive, restorative, cosmetic dentistry, implants, orthodontics and sedation options.

The successful candidate will prepare treatment rooms, assist clinicians, take X-rays, manage infection control, update charts and support scheduling in a collaborative, flexible environment focused on patient care and professional

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body.
  • Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments and maintain patient comfort.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high‑quality care.
  • Follow privacy, safety and regulatory guidelines.

Tuesday to Friday 7:45am-4:15pm

Wage:

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $28-$30/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high‑quality care
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
About You:

Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required. Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
