Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores in Durham Region, Oshawa, is seeking a Licensed Automotive Technician to join our fast-paced auto service team. You will inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles, provide clear estimates and communicate with service staff to ensure quality work.

You’ll work in a diverse, family-like environment with learning opportunities, benefits and flexible hours. Prior CTAS experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Valid mechanic's licence and driver’s licence for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with lifting and reaching.
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends and holidays).
• Knowledge of current automobile technology.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist in explaining procedures and repairs and any additional required maintenance work, and thank customers in a friendly manner.
• Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics, estimates and repairs.
• Complete and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports with Service Advisors.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Installer and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Remain current with up-to-date knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of most vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
