Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join a fast-paced service centre. You will perform oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance.

Collaborate with the Service Manager and licensed technicians, provide accurate estimates, and uphold safety standards. A friendly, diverse workplace with great benefits and opportunities for growth awaits.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with lifting/carrying.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs (lube, oil/filter changes, tire installation/balancing).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (where applicable).
• Perform RIV inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager, Advisors and Technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Report unsafe vehicles to management and owners.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver's license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems

• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
