Job summary

Kal Tire in Westlock, Alberta is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, from compact cars to light-duty fleets. This full-time, permanent role is based at our Westlock store.

You will mentor apprentices, maintain high safety and quality standards, and collaborate with a skilled team in a well-equipped shop. Starting wages are $42.44 per hour with clear wage progression and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experience in inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of mechanical services including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor apprentices by sharing expertise and supporting skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team while working on vehicles from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with front‑end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
