Job summary

Kal Tire is seeking a Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician for a full-time role in Golden, BC. You will perform maintenance and complex repairs on a range of vehicles, mentor apprentices, and advance toward a Lead Technician position.

The role requires licensing as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal) or progress toward Level 3-4 in the TB A program, along with at least 3 years hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal) or progressing through the Level 3-4 TB A pathway.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with brakes, suspension, alignment, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services including brake and suspension repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a team on vehicles from cars to light trucks.
• Identify service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards in all tasks.

We’re looking for (Journeyperson/Journeyman) Automotive Service Technician to perform routine maintenance to complex repairs on compact cars, domestic vehicles and light-duty fleets. We are also open to considering TBA Level 3-4 candidates who are working toward becoming a fully licensed Automotive Service Technician. This full-time, permanent role is based in our (Golden, BC) store.

• Mentor and coach apprentices by sharing your expertise and supporting their skill development in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team while working on various vehicles, from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential mechanical service opportunities in partnership with the Sales team.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified or currently progressing through the TBA program at Level 3-4.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with front‑end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments.
• Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
