Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic Saskatoon Campus is hiring a Library Client Service Associate (Casual) to greet visitors, assist with resources, and support events. The role involves helping patrons with technology, handling materials, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

Applicants should have six months of customer service experience, Grade 12 with tech training, and basic Microsoft Office and cash handling skills. Daytime hours and possible evenings/weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Six+ months in a customer service environment.
• Grade 12 plus supplementary tech training/experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Basic Internet.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Effective oral communication including telephone/customer service experience.
• Time management and organizational skills; knowledge of automated systems (databases, inventory).
• Cash handling and use of digital cash register.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome library visitors.
• Provide proactive client-focused service to meet needs.
• Respond to basic reference inquiries and document actions.
• Prepare for customer inquiries by studying products/services.
• Sign materials in and out for clients.
• Show clients how to use library technology.
• Assist with events and tours under supervisor guidance.
• Shelving, sorting, and processing library materials.
• Maintain attractive, welcoming spaces.
