Job summary

New Age Group is seeking a Level I Security Systems Technician to install, test and service security, surveillance, structured cabling, and access control systems. You will work independently on standard installations while upholding safety and quality standards, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to workmanship excellence.

The role involves cable terminations, testing, labeling, and documentation across structured cabling infrastructure, fiber optics, and intrusion/access control

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of security, low-voltage, electrical, or structured cabling experience.
  • Ability to read drawings and floor plans.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License; ability to obtain site clearances when required.
  • ATC Certification; EMT Installation; Alarm Rough-In.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and service security, surveillance, structured cabling and access control systems per New Age standards.
  • Perform structured cabling tasks including Belden Cat6/6A and related terminations, testing and documentation.
  • Install and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and basic fiber tests; assist with fiber system troubleshooting.
  • Mount, configure and test surveillance cameras and intercom systems; perform system commissioning and acceptance testing.
  • Install intrusion and access control hardware, power supplies, readers and locks; complete system testing.
  • Prepare service reports, as-built drawings and labeling; maintain documentation and job site safety.

Position Summary

The Level I Security Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of security, surveillance, structured cabling, and access control systems under established New Age standards and procedures.

This role requires a technician capable of working independently on standard installations while maintaining company quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

The successful candidate will have strong installation skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to workmanship excellence.
