Job description

A law firm located in the east end of Montreal, near l'Assomption metro station, is seeking a qualified individual for a Legal Assistant position.

The position is permanent and available immediately.

Located in the Olympic Village, next to the Administrative Housing Tribunal, the firm primarily serves property managers, as well as landlords and tenants. It also collaborates with law firms and notaries.

  • Salary between $51,000 and $60,000
  • 35 hours per week - from 9 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM
  • 2 weeks of vacation (negotiable)
  • On-site parking
  • Located in the east end of Montreal, near l'Assomption metro station.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Outlook email inbox
  • Greeting and providing accurate information to clients who come in person
  • Managing files related to service of process and enforcement (eviction, wage garnishment, bank seizure)
  • Tracking deadlines and procedures
  • Conducting research on the Business Register, Soquij, property assessment, RDPRM, and the TAL website
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Digitally archiving documents

Qualifications

  • Excellent French and English, written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and Outlook
  • Strong learning ability and good memory
  • Ability to work in a team and sometimes under pressure
