Profile
As De Havilland Aircraft of Canada continues to experience substantial growth, our Learning and Development team is expanding to meet the evolving needs of our workforce. We are currently seeking skilled technical professionals to join our team as Learning Specialists.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in advancing employee skills by delivering hands-on, practical coaching through project-based learning within our manufacturing sub-assembly and assembly work centers. You will guide learners as they apply technical knowledge directly to real-world manufacturing tasks, ensuring skill development is both meaningful and measurable.
This is a unique opportunity to directly impact workforce development by embedding learning into day-to-day operations and supporting continuous improvement. Your expertise will help shape a highly skilled, agile, and future-ready manufacturing team.
We are hiring for two full-time, on-site positions:
- One based in Calgary, AB
- One based in North Saanich, BC
Duties & Responsibilities
- Emphasize safety and quality: Ensure that safety and quality are emphasized throughout the training. Coach students on adhering to industry standards, regulations, and best practices to maintain the highest levels of safety and quality in aircraft manufacturing and production.
- Deliver technical training programs: Support the delivery of project-based training focused on manufacturing and production processes in the aviation industry. This includes creating hands-on training activities aligned with industry’s best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate practical sessions: Lead hands-on practical training and support students with project instruction.
- Evaluate student progress: Assess student performance through practical assessments, and projects. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and meet certification or employment standards in the aviation industry.
- Drive continuous improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and lead improvement initiatives where gaps are identified through metrics and feedback.
Qualifications And Skills
- Degree, diploma, AME certification, or demonstrated expertise in the relevant field of instruction.
- Experience in a technical operational role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft assembly techniques, materials management, quality control methodologies, and manufacturing principles.
- Prior coaching or training experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is an asset.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms, learning management systems, and training technologies is an asset.

- Demonstrated team player with exemplary interpersonal and relationship building skills. Additionally, you will need to possess the ability to handle challenging situations in a dynamic work environment with professionalism and diplomacy.
