RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The Training and Learning Solutions Advisor will oversee day-to-day operations related to the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. The Advisor will also act as a facilitator, leading a group of training champions within The Institute.

Key responsibilities include managing the Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining and updating existing training content in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developing onboarding programs, and contributing to the development of new courses. The Advisor will also be responsible for managing internal communications related to training, developing organizational strategies, and facilitating institution-wide discussions on training and learning initiatives.

General Duties

  • Develop and publish high-quality e-learning content for a variety of audiences,
  • Continuously improve existing training programs and materials,
  • Create interactive instructional materials, including courses, curricula, user guides, and/or training manuals,
  • Create and execute comprehensive onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires,
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement the day-to-day delivery of training programs,
  • Lead training-related discussions, facilitate knowledge sharing within the training community, and design training courses for trainers,
  • Produce reports for stakeholders and directors, manage applications and admissions to the training program.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of related experience, experience in a higher education or research environment preferred,

Other Requirements

  • Experience in instructional design using Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) or similar e-learning software,
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including user management, course enrollment, and assignment tracking,
  • Experience in utilizing design software, such as Canva, to create visually engaging materials and assets,
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with great attention to details,
  • Bilingualism (English/French),
  • Experience in creating training using software simulation/screen recording/video-editing software (asset).

Additional information

Status : Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)

*** Maternity leave replacement starting mid-June 2025***

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education & work experience. $49,722.40 - $92,346.80.

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Work Site: Remote, monthly team meetings on site.
