Position : Long Term Occasional replacement [1 year contract]

Position Type : Full Time

Language of instruction : Bilingual (French and English)

Start Date : September, 2025

About The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Learning Forum, and under the supervision of the Principal of the Senior School, the Learning Specialist works closely with existing programs and activities of the Learning Forum. Responsibilities include :

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Support students with learning needs and help develop effective learning strategies.
  • Conduct professional development sessions for teachers on best practices.
  • Assist faculty in implementing teaching strategies that address diverse learning needs.
  • Model and co-teach differentiated instruction strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain communication logs.
  • Assist in preparing Learning Support Plans from assessments.
  • Participate in meetings related to student progress and transitions.
  • Coordinate with Test Centre staff and other specialists.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders to support student success.
  • Deliver lessons and workshops on study skills and test preparation.
  • Keep resource lists on effective teaching strategies.
  • Develop partnerships for research and professional development.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek candidates who embody our values of integrity, discernment, respect, and engagement. The ideal candidate :

  • Is a certified teacher with a degree in education and Special Education.
  • Has additional qualifications in Special Education (Part 1, 2, 3, and Specialist).
  • Is bilingual in English and French.
  • Has experience working with high school students with learning needs.
  • Has training in Literacy, Science of Reading, and Numeracy remediation.
  • Is familiar with assistive technologies and accommodations.
  • Has extensive knowledge of IB programs and their mission.
  • Has experience in curriculum and staff development.
  • Possesses strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Can work collaboratively and flexibly with educational teams.
