Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a resource management professional in Montreal to lead scheduling, optimize engagements, and analyze utilization data. You will maintain a skills database, coordinate with national teams, and support rapid, data-driven decisions for staffing and growth.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 0–2+ years in resource or project management, with strong communication, negotiation, and multi-tasking abilities in a bilingual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, HR, Finance OR equivalent relevant experience.
• Bilingual in English and French due to frequent contact with English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec.
• 0-2+ years of experience in resource management, project management, or related field.
• Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to balance individual and business needs.
• Demonstrate personal leadership, accountability, proactivity and responsiveness.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities within the business while delivering quality results.
• Strong communications skills (written and verbal).
• Organized with good time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduling functions for the client including proactive workforce planning, resolving schedule conflicts and recommend staff sharing opportunities.
• Optimize project engagements using available resources to improve utilization.
• Monitor resource utilization and provide regular reports to upper management, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop understanding of staff skillsets and preferences to best utilize staff through engagements.
• Develop and maintain a database of resource skills, qualifications, and experience to aid in quick allocations.
• Administer the resource management database through daily scheduling and inputting changes.
• Forecast and analyze data and create robust reporting through internal database and Excel.
• Collaborate with local and national teams; implement best practices in resourcing processes and reporting.
• Attend regular resourcing meetings with representatives from the business.
• Analyze and challenge resourcing requests against engagement metrics for proper allocation.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and resources as liaison for issues.
• Collaborate with local and national Resourcing teams and promote interdepartmental cooperation.
