Verve Senior Living is hiring a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will play a key role in enacting resident-centered care within a Richmond, BC retirement residence. You will lead care activities, coordinate with the health team, and ensure documentation, safety, and quality standards are met.

As part of our supportive team, you will administer medications, participate in care planning, and mentor care staff while maintaining compassionate communication with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• LPN license in good standing with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Certified in Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, required.
• Previous experience working as an LPN in a health care setting is considered an asset.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families and other team members.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to evaluate and meet resident care needs, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently.
• A resident-oriented individual, whose visions and values align with those of the residence.
• Has demonstrated excellent leadership skills.
• Must have proficient computer skills (i.e. Word and Excel).

Responsabilités

• Participates in continuous quality improvement standards.
• Participates in assessing residents' needs and organizes care plans to promote maximum independence.
• Participates in pre-move-in and ongoing assessments of health and wellness needs and makes recommendations.
• Ensures residents' files exist with proper medication documentation and safe practices.
• Updates residents' care plans every 6 months or as required.
• Supervises care provided by attendants and guides staff.
• Distributes medications and provides treatments per standards.
• Responds to emergency calls and coordinates with professional help when needed.
• Provides direct resident care per standards and policies.
• Follows infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
• Leads and develops staff to maintain service levels and standards.
• Acts as emergency lead in manager's absence.
• Keeps accurate nursing records and completes reports.
• Maintains a neat, clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
• Safeguards medications and nursing solutions in the residence.
• Reports incidents and changes in resident status to health management and completes shift reports.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary care plan development to support independence.
• Keeps health manager informed of staff performance.
• Evaluates outcomes of interventions and suggests improvements.
• Provides ongoing support to co-workers and advocates for residents' rights.
• Uses equipment and supplies per policies and safety regulations.
• Serves beverages and meals in dining rooms as requested.
• Assists with other duties to ensure smooth residence operation including housekeeping and laundry.
• Maintains effective communication with supervisors, residents, families and other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned and completes mandatory training and safety programs.
• Complies with health and safety acts and hazardous materials regulations.
