Job summary

Aecon Utilities is hiring an experienced Substation Electrical Supervisor to oversee HV substation projects across British Columbia. This on-site role requires leading field crews, coordinating activities, and ensuring safety and quality throughout installation, testing, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in HV substations, a relevant electrical diploma, and strong leadership skills to manage crews and subcontractors on energized infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or accredited electrical qualification in power systems.
• Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician is preferred.
• Experience supervising field crews on HV substations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field crews installing, testing, and commissioning HV substation equipment.
• Lead daily field activities, enforce safety, and meet project schedules.
• Coordinate installation of transformers, switchgear, and control buildings.
• Review drawings and specifications to guide field execution.
• Maintain daily reports, look-ahead planning, and resource coordination.
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct toolbox talks.
