We are looking for an individual to act as the liaison between subcontractors and our operations team once a project is awarded, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the execution of public works projects.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all expenses are accounted for, and that projects stay within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent project management skills, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. The successful candidate will have experience in public works projects and a solid grasp of estimating school and college construction jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Analyze blueprints, plans, and other project documentation to develop accurate estimates.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for precise estimation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.
• Utilize construction estimating software, such as Bluebeam, to create and manage estimates.
• Maintain and manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors to facilitate future bidding opportunities.
• Monitor project costs throughout its lifecycle, ensuring projects stay within budget constraints.
• Assist during the bidding process by preparing bid packages, reviewing subcontractor bids, and negotiating competitive pricing.
• Conduct research to obtain relevant data on labor costs, materials, production times, and location-specific factors.
• Stay current on industry trends, advancements, and changes in construction codes and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Self-motivate and actively seek out upcoming projects for bidding.
• Coordinate with team members on work progress and cost reporting.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of public works project bids.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field, with expertise in construction management principles.
• Strong proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam.
• Comprehensive understanding of cost control methods and techniques in the construction industry.
• Experience estimating public works projects, particularly school and college construction jobs.
• Strong negotiation skills, with previous experience in vendor and subcontractor contract negotiations .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts effectively.
• Excellent project management skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is but not mandatory.
