We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Infrastructure division and build innovative projects in the transit and transportation sectors, such as roads, highways/freeways, bridges, interchanges, LRTs, BRTs, and airports. About The Role:

The Chief Estimator reports directly to the Ontario Pre-Construction Director and will have an in-depth knowledge of conceptual estimating, budgeting, tendering, proposal submission, and construction methodology. The Chief Estimator will oversee large projects and transit estimating teams while being mentored by the Director to further develop leadership skills and pursuit strategies.

As a Chief Estimator at Graham, you will:
  1. Be responsible for bidding and pre-construction estimating, as well as the financial results, in partnership with the Director.
  2. Complete project scope of work reviews to ensure estimates are complete, including technical specifications, subcontractor scopes, and general condition items.
  3. Identify and develop constructability requirements for high-level budgeting and project estimates.
  4. Propose and approve project risk mitigation, cost savings, and opportunities.
  5. Develop bid strategies, constructability requirements, and innovations to enhance bidding success.
  6. Prepare and coordinate estimates as needed.
  7. Track analytics related to project estimating pursuits.
  8. Manage, train, and mentor other estimators, overseeing profit/loss performance.
  9. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring in planning, organizing, and supervising estimating personnel.
  10. Build effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, reflecting Graham’s core values and brand image.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. University degree (BA/BSc) or equivalent, with advanced understanding of complex concepts; certifications like Gold Seal, LEED, MRICS, or CIQS are assets.
  2. 20+ years of combined field and estimating experience, with at least 5 years in a senior estimating role with a medium-to-large general contractor.
  3. Leadership experience related to ICI projects.
  4. Successful track record in leading projects over $100 million and managing estimating teams.
  5. Proficiency in design-build, IPD, and construction management is an asset.
