Job summary

York Region Paramedic Services is seeking an experienced Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. You will provide 24/7 pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care, and transportation to hospitals per MOHLTC standards.

Spring 2027 start with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits. Applicants must hold A-EMCA or equivalent and Base Hospital certification, plus Ontario driver’s license and PVSC clearance.

Qualifications

• Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) or equivalency.
• Eligibility for certification under the Ambulance Act of Ontario.
• Successful completion of a Canadian Medical Association accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program.
• Must achieve Base Hospital certification within six months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced emergency medical care at emergency sites with focus on life support.
• Transport patients to treatment facilities by ambulance.
• Assess and treat patients according to MOHLTC and Base Hospital standards.
• Prepare Ambulance Call Reports and other required reports.
• Maintain fleet cleanliness and stock medical supplies and equipment.
